Found this poster at school.
Got my vlog entry up for this month. Not doing these as often as I’d like, but I’m glad I’m at least doing one a month. With the semester ending soon, I should be able to make these on a regular basis.
Last week I attempted to cook again. This time I went out on a limb and did stuff I had never done before:
1. Cook beef in a form other than hamburger meat.
2. Make cheesecake.
I definitely learned some stuff from this cooking experience. I learned that cooking beef without knowing what kind of spices I’m going to use is not advisable. I really didn’t think about what I was going to use to add flavor; grabbing random sample packets is not a wise idea. Thankfully the spices I chose and the amount that I used did not ruin the beef because it still tasted fine when finished.
The cheesecake was made from a box and not from scratch, but as my first time ever preparing cheesecake, I think I was quite successful. I’d like to try making homemade cheesecake or just add my own fruit instead of the jelly liquid concoction that was included in the package. Gallery below shows beef with green beans and sweet Texas onion and strawberry cheesecake.
Last Friday, I decided to refrain from eating fast food for one meal and attempted to fix something in the kitchen. I prepared everything except for the sugar snap peas (found a frozen bag and added them last minute). It wasn’t anything extraordinary; the chicken was a little dry and the mashed potatoes were simple. Still, I’m pleased with myself and with knowing that I can prepare an actual meal if I actually tried.
Also, I celebrated Pi Day today by devouring a slice of store-bought blueberry pie. Until I find a way to eat numbers, I will continue celebrating this mathematical holiday each year with a slice of bakery goodness. Hooray for homophones!
Been over a month since I’ve posted any stuff on here. I’ve been busy with so much stuff that I stopped making time to share that stuff on here. Well, things are different now and I promise I won’t leave for so long ever again. Really. Well, the likelihood of that happening again is slim. Very, very slim. Anyway, I guess I’ll start talking about stuff.
Look-alikes of popular products rarely appear better than the originals. Sometimes they are worse than the original products. Unless a person is only interested in saving money, he won’t mind shelling out some extra bucks to buy from the original manufacturer instead of some third-party knock-off. Well, while meandering at a local mall, I found some look-alike stuff that looked better than the original stuff. The original stuff that I am referring to is the Snuggie. Now, I don’t really know if the Snuggie is the first blanket with sleeves to ever be sold. I wouldn’t be surprised if other people tried selling a similar product before and failed because they didn’t use a catchy name like “Snuggie.” However, since it was advertised on television, I’m going to declare it as the original for sake of this post. Anyway, on my excursion, I discovered similar blankets with sleeves, as seen below.
Now those look more interesting to me. Sure the Snuggie looks nice in its generic colors. Heck, I’m sure some guys go bananas over the camouflage patterned Snuggie. But why get one of those plain jane Snuggies when you can get a sleeved blanket that better describes you? Instead of getting a simple blue sleeved blanket, get one that yells “Go Blue!” Raise your nerd ego with a sleeved blanket that shows off your favorite video game! I don’t own one personally, but I have friends who do and have told me their complaints about their Snuggies. So if you’re going to burn some bills on thin fabric that’s a pain in the neck to wash, I suggest burning it on thin fabric that’s a pain in the neck to wash but represents something you enjoy.
